Food Paste

Difficulty: easy

Materials:
* Water bottle lid
* Pumpkin Paste or
* Oatmeal Paste or
* Peanut Butter Paste

Description

Food paste can be used on pine cones, in holes drilled in untreated wood or safe branches, different pasta shapes, toys-anything. If possible hide object for added foraging. The following recipes for Pumpkin and Oatmeal paste will make a large amount. Unless you have many birds, you will want to cut the recipe in half or experiment with your own concoction.

Pumpkin Paste
Blend the following:
4 cups of oatmeal
1/4 cup of peanut butter
3/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup peanuts
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 LB can pumpkin
Dash of cinnamon, ginger and allspice.
Add orange juice to create a paste consistency.

Oatmeal Paste
Mix the following:
2 cups oatmeal
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup honey
1 cup grape nuts or wheat germ cereal
1 cup non-fat milk
1 cup fresh fruit
1/2 cup peanut butter
Add water to form a paste consistency.

Peanut Butter Paste
Peanut butter
Uncooked oatmeal
Small amount of honey
Mix together the amount needed to fill lids. (or whatever your filling)
