Meet our Mascot: Wolfie!by Peggy HuscherMany of you may have seen me around with my best buddy Wolfie. I just wanted to share a bit about him for those who are curious. Since he was abandoned on the streets as a puppy, we are not sure of his age but he is likely around 6. He is the most kind and caring of friends, even crying kittens are more than he can endure. Without question, he is a social butterfly, treating no one as a stranger. He can beat Miyagi at fly catching any day of the week. You'll often see him run with such carefree abandonment, jumping with such amazing grace! His favorite thing in the world is hanging his head out of a car window... smelling the smells and feeling the wind on his face. Its hard to argue how adorably cute and photogenic he is, especially when he allows me to dress him in costume! Though he likes to sleep all times of day, he still keeps himself a trim and healthy 27 pounds. Wolfie developed a cornea infection in 2015 which led to him losing his eyes. Its incredible how much self-confidence and bravery he showed during this time. Even though he had already passed his Canine Good Citizen test, we went through the class and test again to see how he would do. He did so well, the instructor didn't even notice he was blind. In fact, he gets along so smoothly with daily interaction that I have to inform anyone we meet that he is without eyes. I am so proud of him! |
